You will have the experience of assembling a bamboo sword used in kendo. The shinai is constructed from four pieces of bamboo, tied together with strings to connect the 'sakukawa' (tip), 'nakayui' (middle knot), and 'tsuka' (handle), which are made from cow or deer leather.
You'll have the opportunity to pose for a commemorative photo while holding the shinai you created, dressed in your dojo uniform, hakama, and protective gear. We’ll provide guidance on basic stances, but feel free to strike any pose that you find cool!

In KENDO, we always respond to our opponent's attacks with calm movements. For that reason, footwork is very important. You can learn basic footworks and master the correct movements and posture as a samurai.
Learn the correct way to hold and swing a bamboo sword. By gripping it correctly and holding it in the correct posture, you can be thoroughly guarded and master this position as the basic posture.
Practice of striking with a bamboo sward. In KENDO, you don’t just swing a bamboo sward with brute force, you need to keep calm and watch the opponent’s entire movement, then strike when the opponent gets distracted. You can actually hit KENDO master’s mask with bamboo sward.
Finally, it’s time for the real battle. Apply what you have learned and take one point from KENDO master. He has a paper balloon on his mask, let’s break it with your bamboo sward!
